Reading a wiring diagram

Postby big bad » Tue Aug 06, 2013 9:13 am

Wiring schematics are just like maps each component that creates heat, magnetism or a form of energy needs 12v and a ground. Switches create a path to a component and can allow or prevent power or ground from reaching a component.

There are many colors and they are all noted, Normally green is reserved as a ground, Red is usually associated with a high current positive wire.

Take a look trace some things out. It really helps printing a diagram so you can write on it and highlight the wires as you are tracing out your component. Then use a voltmeter and verify what you have.
