Looking for a good Modular type helmet

Postby Steven » Thu Aug 28, 2008 12:11 pm

I have a cap helmet ie.. no face shield..
would like to have a face shield when it starts raining.
was thinking about getting a modular type helmet.

Any advice or suggestions on a good one that is not over the top expensive.

When you say modular do you mean flip-up?

I have a Fulmer modular. Cost is less than $150. It must be good because my previous Fulmer modular stayed intact when I was run over and dragged over 100 feet. Hey, maybe I should advertise for them :!:

I just bought the Nolan flip up N 103 com.
I did my home work for at least 2 weeks.
One thing to remember, that all of them fog on the inside, all of them whisle at highway speed.
The Nolan got some great reviews. Even though it did match the rest regarding the fogging and the Highway noise.
It did fit very comfortably unlike the the HJC Sy-Max II. The HJC did fit a litttle weird. Although the HJC has a great wide open wider view( you don't see the edges of the helmet while wearing it)
My suggestn is to try more that one helmet to get an idea on which one might suit your head.
Sizesdo varries between manifacturers.
Best luck to you.
Jamal.

Can you leave the helmet open while riding in the hot weather ?

I picked up a Daytona modular with the built-in sun visor. Good airflow and comfortable yet snug. I paid $100 from Drasco Trading Post in Arkansas shipped.
