Joe Rocket Atomic 2.0 Jacket (Medium)

Hey folks, I've got a Joe Rocket Atomic 2.0 medium size jacket to sell. It's a bit warm for the temps out right now, though it's better than leather. I already have a leather for fall/winter, and I actually take a small size jacket. This one's a bit big for me. It's black with a white reflective str...

Trade Intakes?

Hello folks, I have a like-new condition Kuryakyn Corsair intake that I wouldn't mind trading for a like-new condition Thunder Tornado or Hurricane, if anyone is interested. I think the looks of the Corsair are much better than most, if not all intakes IMO, but I'm not 100% sure it's as high perform...

Re: To Darkside, or not to Darkside?

Well, Da Chief, that was some pretty good sales pitchin'... Seriously, what is this counter steering thing? Is it because the tire is flat, and you've got to work it differently? Must be kind of like having a really big tire on there, a la 240-250mm. Thanks for the info gents. I appreciate yo...

Re: To Darkside, or not to Darkside?

You're right, Mike. This was a very even, level-headed thread. I appreciate that, and it's more than I can say for other forums I've looked at. Going back to the first response, I can't afford to throw away $100+ on something that might not work for me. The other thing I'm more cautious about is tha...

To Darkside, or not to Darkside?

Hey folks, Ok, I've had my 05' 1800 C model since buying it as a new leftover in April of 07'. I've got a little over 11,400 miles on it now, and am on my second set of tires... THAT ARE ALREADY GETTING CLOSE TO THE WEAR INDICATORS!!! :bomb: First stock set of Dunlops lasted about 6k miles. Now, I'v...

Re: new tire time

Okay...Glad I saw this thread. I've got an 05' 1800 C, and it seems to be going through tires like water. All wear is even, and they look great, but they're just wearing out FAST. I don't do any burnouts, no slides, wheelies, darkies, etc. I'm an aggressive rider once in a while, but I usually just ...

Re: Removed Baffles from Hard Krome 3 Inch Str8s

I'm STILL trying to decide whether or not to run my Roadhouse Shorty with the baffle (Biglry mod method) or just leave it out. Power is about the same with only a bit more low end with baffle in and more top end with it out. I've got a couple really good running PC3 maps for either way, and plugs lo...

Re: Corbin FREE seat? Check THIS OUT...

Folks, I just got my Young Guns, again. It's not a perfect fit, but adequate under the circumstances. They really need a bike, so someone has GOT be watching these forums and want a Corbin seat for free. Just let 'em have your bike for a few days for cryin' out loud. If I lived anywhere in Californi...

Re: 1800 VTX no longer going to be produced!

Automatic bikes are a shame to us all. If that's Honda's direction, I'd never buy another,
and I wouldn't look back. It was suggested in the Motorcycle of the Year column in
this months Motorcyclist magazine that Honda maybe should make the Gold wing
an 8 cyl. automatic. How cheesy would that be?

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Sure, I understand. It does sound pretty extreme. Interesting thing too, I've tried using the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs again. The bike feels smoother, but not as powerful...maybe. Perhaps it's a better burn that makes a bit more power, or smoother delivery that only "feels" like it's a litt...

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Yes indeed. You are correct, and that is what you are to me. I've learned almost everything so far on this bike from you. I won't ever forget that either. Biglry is a very cool guy, and I've got some good info from him too, yes. In reality, I almost wish I'd bought the Biglry fuel manager and took a...

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Yep...but, as long as it's not hurting anything, it's cool. Maybe I shouldn't have taken out the Thunder Monster... That was Biglry's assertion that it was not doing my bike any good. Perhaps my low HP numbers were lack of fuel, though at higher rpms the A/F mixture wasn't that far off. Biglry...

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Update: Did the "smoke" test to see if there's exhaust leaks, and it does not appear that I have any at all. Smoke or flame held by the headers and any place where there is a joint result in a non disturbed flame and smoke from matches and a grill lighter. I revved the engine too, just to ...

Re: Replacement Shock Bushings

Ok, those look like they're for stock shocks.
But, I've got the 11 inch Progressive 412 shocks. Will these work for those?

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Well, I'm going to buy them at Advance Auto. They have the Felpro ones there for $3.49 each. The guy there did say I could resuse them, but if I'd changed out pipes a few times then, yeah, I should replace then. As for the popping, no, it doesn't happen right away. It spools down for a bit before it...

Re: Clayton exhaust mod???

Well, here's another solution...get a great deal on a Roadhouse Shorty like I did. I got mine new off Ebay for $150. It was brand new that a Honda dealer was just trying to get rid of. Sorry to hear that Mike. I don't think I knew about that, did I? The one thing I think those guys are wrong about i...

Re: Popping on decel...typical?

Thanks Mike. I did read those though. I guess I'm just puzzled by the really BIG one that lets out. The popping I encounter is really in a small rpm band too, when decelerating. It's between 2-3k rpm always. I'll also say that it started when I removed that Thunder Monster gunsight baffle. A testame...

Popping on decel...typical?

Hey folks, I know this topic has been talked about time and time again, but I just have a question for anyone out there experiencing this particular thing. Mike, I tried calling you last night to answer this, and you may have before? I've got a bit of decel popping because I'm running the exhaust wi...

Re: Clayton exhaust mod???

VTXExhaust.com is your answer.
Let them do it right for a fraction of the cost of
aftermarket pipes. I, and many others, would recommend
them highly. Get the 3 inch opening too...it'll knock
your socks off.
