Re: power commander111

Ya probable hit the rev limiter, happens to most all newer X owners sooner or later, especially if one is just coming off a 4 cylinder canyon carver with a 12,000 Red-line, or older guys who remember spinning up them 327ci motors to 8,500 RPM (them were the days). And if the Fuel Relay Cut Off to on...

Re: B&B Performance Computer

Hey Bare, Didn't you used to run the HPP on your bike? I still have the HPP on my bike but wondered what I might gain from the B&B. I was under the impression that for the HPP you had to leave the pare vave in place. Can you de-smog a bike and run the B&B? Also if the HPP has been wired int...

Re: How to un-stick an injector

You can listen to the injectors with a stethoscope and hear them click open & close, But it helps to know the year as there are some checks used on pre-04 that are not used on new stile (04-up). If an early stile X, I would suspect the fuel pressure reg along with the injectors until proving to ...

Re: Installing gauges

I figured that there is at least 1 test port for the oil pressure, just not sure what adapter to use and the coolant temp needs to be taken at the thermostat area. again not sure if there is a port available for this. No test port for oil or water. On the oil you have to install an adapter at the o...

Re: New Q-5 Intake thoughts,,,

Note: I've seen a few and owned one of the original P4. I sold it because of two issues concerning the design. First, it had an imperfect seal between housing and filter. I found fine dirt in the housing behind the filter and one other X I service regularly with the P4 has the same fine dirt between...

Re: Motor ticking

Year of X and how many miles, helps in the diagnostics. :D It could be total normal as the X engine is noisy to a loose valve to a sticky decompression assembly on the cam, depending on the "ticking" sound. My first guess is a loose valve and verified by making sure where the sound is comi...

I just had one that was leaking around the lower left 'L' bracket. We had to TIG it around the bracket to fix. Get the system pressure ...
